About Viridis
Viridis Development Partners is a property development group based in Lagos, Portugal, which builds quality properties across the Algarve. Concentrating on bespoke, off-plan, turn-key solutions, the team aims to timeless designs and well-built, energy efficient properties in tune with the local lifestyle.
Viridis, formerly known as Battaglia Real Estate, was founded by four partners: Nuno Battaglia, Jorge Grave, Antonio Castel-Branco and Dexter ten Hoopen. Each has a passion for real estate and property development and a special affinity with the Algarve and together have more than a hundred years of experience in the property sector. After the first developments of 8 luxury villas in Praia da Luz and 32 apartments in Burgau, Viridis is expanding its portfolio with residential projects in the Silves, Figueira and the Lagos areas. Each development has its own unique identity, with the areas’ history and the landscape dictating the design concept of each project.
Aside from acquiring land for development of our own projects, Viridis also helps realise the dreams of landowners who do not have the know-how or capital to develop their land. Partnering with the landowner, Viridis carries out the development, marketing and subsequent construction of the properties. This model is mutually beneficial for both parties and has proven to be a very effective model.
Viridis has the added benefit of having its own construction company, BGE, pool company, Pebble Pools and real estate agency, ten Hoopen Realty. This gives us a unique position in which we can keep the entire development process in-house, from start to finish.

Viridis has a lasting relationship with the main banks in Portugal for the financing and backing of our development properties. We also have long-standing relationships with the best local architects, engineers and marketing teams, fundamental assets in the successful execution of development project. Perhaps most importantly, our reputation and relationship with the local council and planning departments facilitates the licensing aspect of any development project.
